Mr. Arthur Goes to Washington

Jan 17, 2015

Sometimes the band just can’t hit the road when Matt gets the itch to roam, and really, the dark days of January tend to be one of those times. Luckily our good friend and label mate The Holy Broke has a fantastic new record to release, and he’s bringing Matt back out to Washington state

The Best Year

Dec 31, 2013

Happy new year, friends! 2013 was a tough year for a lot of folks, but dang…it was a great one for us. We released a full-length album, played 37 shows in 22 different venues, went on our first national tour, and got honored as the “Best Bar Band” in Southern Minnesota. Look out 2014, you’ve

Fan Art!

Dec 15, 2013

You know you’ve achieved a certain amount of celebrity when you start getting fan art! (OK, so maybe it doesn’t entirely count if it comes from a nephew of a band member, but let’s see YOUR fan art, then!) This fantastic crayon portrait is by Ben Richter who drew it from life during last night’s

Ten Years After

Nov 14, 2013

On November 14, 2003 (ten years ago today!) a band known as Matt Arthur & “The Bratland Family Players” played its first show. In 2004 we simplified the name to “the Bratlanders,” and three of the four original members are still playing today! Literally today, since we’ve got our final local show of the year
